Shifting our focus

We understood we are not getting good data from the app we used to get find out when users our calling their family.

Also we put so much energy to get this data. We had to meet our users to show them how to download the app.

We decided we are satisfied with the questioner that showed us that showed us that users area available to chat when commuting.

(82 responses)

Also, not very measurable, but we got positive feedback on that assumption.

So.

We decided to shift our attention into finding more users who agreed to place our paper-prototype flower in their home.

Our main goal was to find a parent and a student and have them tested at the same time.

The main questions we wanted answers for were:

1. If the flower increased phone call amongst family members

for that we just needed the permission to go through their call logs. Also, not only the number counted but the feeling of whether the felt closer to their family

2. If the closed flower made them feel sad.

We wanted to introduce a "happy" new awareness system, and to rely on positive feedback. Sadning our users was a to expensive tradeoff to pay for strengthening family ties, our whole idea is to improve their quality of life. So that parameter was crucial to our design

3. Students - whether they felt shy towards their friends

It was important for us for the students not to be shy about the plant. If they would it would make them place the device in a hidden area of the house, reducing it's effect

4. Where were the flower placed

Important to understand what role it took in the lives and in their homes.

5. Other criticism

We were also open to new ideas and needs we didn't thought of.

After shifting our focus Yael's mother and sister agreed to participate in the study!
